I was the least important member of the shore bowl team. My four team members, Tom, Curt, Nick, and Chris, were all more knowledgeable on their subjects than I was. That's why I was an alternate. We got second, again. It was an interesting feeling, losing after working so hard. There will always be someone better than you at everything. We can aspire to be the best we can, but perhaps diverting our focus away from all the various choices and towards the things we enjoy would be more, well, productive.
